Jr. Elevator Field Supervisor

Liberty Elevator Corporation is a company on the rise in Paterson New Jersey currently in search of a Jr. Elevator Field Supervisor.  This position will be responsible for overseeing service technicians in both the maintenance & repair departments while assuring Liberty Elevator’s strict quality control standards are being maintained. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent verbal communication skills, as well as a proven competency in managing a remote workforce. Prior experience in the elevator industry required. Licensed elevator inspector a plus. 

This position will be based out of the Liberty headquarters, 63 East 24th Street, Paterson, NJ. but the geographic responsibility may be within the Northern NJ, Central NJ, Southern NJ or NYC territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise service mechanics and repair teams
  • Visit clients/locations to inspect job conditions for necessary repair work and ensure proper maintenance is being performed
  • Ensure maintenance, routine inspections and periodic tests are being performed at the proper intervals
  • Handle dispatching and supervision of mechanics answering night calls
  • Layout, organize plan and work with dispatching to schedule maintenance and repair work
  • Develop list for office to prepare proposals for necessary work
  • Survey all new potential clients/leads that come in for repair and or maintenance
  • Survey all completed construction or modernization projects for acceptance by the Service Department
  • Oversee the parts department with regard to parts and supplies needed for service and repair
  • Responsible for managing field employees in our continuing education and safety programs
  • Follow up with customers after initiation of a new relationship and or completion of work
  • Liaison between Job Superintendents, Building Owners/Representatives, Supervisors and Office
  • Maintain accurate jobsite records and maintenance schedules
  • Prepare lists of required work on existing equipment
  • Assist mechanics with additional troubleshooting and technical skills
  • Keep company supplied vehicle clean, neat and presentable at all times

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • 3-5 Years’ experience as an elevator field employee supervisor
  • Possess technical troubleshooting skills for a wide variety of control equipment
  • Clean/valid driver’s license
  • OSHA 10 Course/Training completion
  • Thorough knowledge of Electrical Schematics
  • Thorough knowledge of a variety of manufactures of structural equipment, controllers, signal/fixtures and door equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively to assistants, job superintendents, supervisors and office to include thorough knowledge of all elevator component terms
  • Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) Certification a plus
  • NYC DOB Licensed Elevator Inspector a plus
