INDEPENDENCE DAY RESONATES WITH LOCAL
INDEPENDENT ELEVATOR CORPORATION
PATERSON, N.J. - While many New Jerseyans look forward to
barbeques and backyards this Fourth of July, the anniversary of our
Nation's independence reminds Liberty Elevator Corporation of its
historic contribution to Lady Liberty's restoration.
July 4, 1986 marked the completion of the Statue of Liberty's
renovation. Liberty Elevator, then National Elevator, played an
integral role in the project. After bidding against international
competitors, the local Paterson company was awarded the prestigious
honor of designing and installing a state of the art vertical
transportation system.
The construction was required to remain within the pre-existing
structure of the National landmark. This unique specification
allowed Liberty to showcase its skills in terms of engineering,
creativity, and customization. Liberty ultimately constructed the
largest hydraulic double-decker in the United States that provides
a 360-degree interior view of the base of the statue. A local
company's notable involvement has since assisted millions of
international visitors.
2010 marks Liberty Elevator Corporation's fiftieth anniversary
as a privately owned and operated family business. Liberty is a
full service elevator company specializing in customizable
preventative maintenance programs, modernizations, cab
refurbishments and new installations. For more information on what
Liberty can do for you, call 1-800-522-4551.
