LIBERTY ELEVATOR'S "MOCK CAB" UNVEILVED AT GRAND OPENING
OF O.R.A.C.L.E. FACILITY
PATERSON, N.J. (MAY 20, 2011) - Liberty Elevator
was among several New Jersey real estate professionals whom
attended the May 19th grand opening of the
O.R.A.C.L.E. learning center, at Planned Companies' corporate
headquarters at 150 Smith Road, Parsippany.
The ceremonial ribbon cutting was preceded by Mayor James R.
Barberio's keynote address at 10:30 a.m. Barberio addressed the
importance of professional development through continued education
and the local benefits of the O.R.A.C.L.E. center to the community.
Local officials were also in attendance, including the Parsippany
Area Chamber of Commerce President, Robert Peluso.
Liberty has installed a functional "Mock Cab" of a typical
hydraulic passenger elevator. This working model simulates an
actual elevator. By pressing the hall push button, the car and hall
doors open at the landing or floor which the elevator has stopped.
Visitors are able to enter the elevator and examine the key
functions of the car, all of which are labeled and described on a
personal MP3 player, that the visitors are given while they walk
through the station.
Douglas Muttart, President of Liberty Elevator Corporation
states, "Visitors to the Liberty 'Mock Cab' at O.R.A.C.L.E. will
learn first-hand the basic elements of a working elevator."
Muttart adds, "This information is especially useful for
building owners, property and facility managers who want to
familiarize themselves with the core operating functions of their
elevator equipment and become fluent in life safety precautions.
The benefits to being elevator-savvy could prove cost effective by
possibly ruling out error and nuisance calls."
Liberty is among 15 other vendors who have contributed a
workstation to the 2,000-square foot learning facility. The space
will be used to educate real estate professionals on:
- Basic functions, preventative maintenance and maintenance of
building components,
- Space to review LEED Certification steps and processes, which
illustrate the benefits of implementing green initiatives at the
workplace,
- And twenty (20) work bays equipped with laptops to access
Planned's Online School of Professional Development - a virtual
school launched in June of 2009 which offers Planned associates and
professionals training on more than 3,000 courses, from tutorials
on Microsoft Office programs like Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel to
classes on business communications, such as interviewing, customer
service, new-business presentations and administering effective
meetings.
