LIBERTY'S CUSTOMERS SUCCEED AT ELEVATOR SAFETY SEMINARS

PATERSON, N.J. - OCTOBER 17, 2011 - Liberty Elevator Corporation held three (3) safety seminars on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the O.R.A.C.L.E. Learning Center, 150 Smith Road, Parsippany,  in honor of Elevator Safety Month. Attendees included property managers and building engineers who were eager to increase awareness of their elevator equipment and its safe functionality.

One morning seminar and two afternoon seminars were conducted by John Miller, Director of Operations and Peter Stackhouse, Director of Retail Operations. Topics included door safety, fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures. Liberty also recommended tips for owners and managers to take to keep their elevators safe and working properly on a regular basis.

The guests were able to test their knowledge on Liberty's "Mock Cab," a full functioning model of hydraulic passenger elevator, donated by Liberty Elevator Corporation to the O.R.A.C.L.E. Learning Center. The model simulates a real elevator without actually moving and allows visitors to learn the functions of Phase 1 Fire Service in addition to identifying key parts of a typical hydraulic elevator.

The seminars each lasted one hour, earning BOMI International graduates one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit toward their CPD requirement. Those who attended the seminar also received a comprehensive learning packet, complete with safety tips and fire service, alarm and phone tests logs for use in their buildings.

Liberty plans on holding similar seminars once a quarter to continue utilizing the O.R.A.C.L.E.'s comprehensive learning space to educate customers on the importance of elevator knowledge and safety.

Liberty is among 15 other vendors who have contributed a workstation to the 2,000-square foot learning facility. The space is used to educate real estate professionals on basic functions, preventative maintenance procedures, LEED Certification steps and processes, and 20 workbays which offer professional training and online tutorials.
