CAUSE:
This Class A mid rise commercial office building houses five
traction elevators. In an effort to attract new tenants, a complete
renovation of the building went underway. For the elevators, this
not only meant refurbishing the aesthetic aspects of the cabs, but
completely updating the existing internal equipment.
ACTION:
Liberty Elevator was contracted to modernize all five cars. New
VVVF-AC controls, power drives, hoist motors, new master power door
equipment, cab interior remodeling and fixtures were all slated to
be completed within the allotted period of time.
RESULT:
As a result of the improvements, a reduction in wait time, noise
and door opening and closing speed were recorded. Additionally, the
speed from stop to stop in each of the ten floors was
increased.
